Cougar
Football Hits the Road
Huddle up, Cougars. For the 2008 football
season, the Houston Alumni Organization (HAO) is offering discounted
hotel packages and pregame parties for away games at Colorado
State (9/20) and SMU (10/18). Make your reservations and find
out more at www.mycougarconnection.com/away_games.
Many remember how much fun it was to
beat up on the University of Texas and Texas A&M during the Southwest Conference days.
Fewer remember the trip to Lansing, Mich., in 1967, where an underdog
Cougar squad drilled No. 1 Michigan State 37-7. When fans follow
their team across the state or across the country, there’s
a satisfaction in the journey itself, almost as if it’s part
of the collective team effort. And of course, a silent opponent’s
stadium can sound just as blissful as a rocking Robertson.
Only a limited number of rooms will be held
at the special UH alumni discount, so be sure to reserve quickly.
Updated information regarding pregame festivities will be available
as each game approaches. E-mail questions to Tonja
Jones or call 713-743-9550
