Get ready to celebrate 80 years of Cougar
spirit during the 2007 Homecoming festivities as the University of
Houston Cougars battle the Marshall Thundering Herd. Come home and
have a rip-roaring time Nov. 12-16. Enjoy a week of fun, food, friends,
family and football. Also, celebrate the spirit of giving through
a season-long community service project with the Star of Hope Mission.
This is not just another Homecoming. Mark your calendar and pump up
your Cougar spirit as we paint the town red on our 80th birthday.
The Houston Alumni Organization’s 25th Annual Homecoming Golf
Tournament presented by HR&P is slated to kick off the 2007 Homecoming
Week. The tournament will be held on November 12 at the Pecan Grove

Students
Today, Alumni Tomorrow
Did you know that UH has an alumni organization
for students? The Student Alumni Connection (SAC), a subgroup
of the Houston Alumni Organization, was created several years ago
to groom students to become alumni. The organization is one of the
largest and most spirited on campus, featuring approximately 2,000
members.
This year, the SAC board has created an innovative program called
“The Twenty-Seven.” The number Twenty-Seven signifies
the year that the University was founded (1927), and the concept consists
of 27 board members who are high-profile, high-energy students committed
to extraordinary excellence through service to UH.
The Twenty-Seven strives to promote campus tradition, pride and spirit.
The organization’s goal is to become recognized throughout the
campus as a quality and leading student organization that provides
beneficial activities for its members and general student body. Members
of The Twenty-Seven hope to achieve personal excellence through leadership
opportunities, opportunities to network with alumni, and career development.
If you know a UH student who may like to get involved, tell them to
visit www.myCougarConnection.com/students
for more details.
