The high-flying team, which finished 8–5 (6–2 Conference USA), put up big numbers on the way to a spirited matchup with the TC U Horned Frogs. Though coming up a touchdown short in a hard-fought 20–13 contest before 62,000 fans at Reliant Stadium, UH laid the groundwork for a 2008 season in which the “REDvolution” will be led by new head coach Kevin Sumlin. “I hope the Cougar faithful, as well as the Houston community, are as excited about the upcoming season as I am,” Sumlin says.

Baseball
Not to be outdone, the Cougar team traveled to New Orleans to compete in the Conference USA Baseball ChampionshipUH baseball player and brought home the title for the first time since 2000.
